Golf Weekend 2010
Cape Code Irish Village - http://www.capecod-irishvillage.com
Date: March 26-28, 2010
Call (508) 771-0100 to make a reservation and tell them that you're with the OIO. I don't have the final rate for this year, but it will be close to last year's $188 (probably a little higher). I'll update this post when I have a number. We have the cottages and a bunch of rooms reserved again.
Golf will be at Bass River again at 10:30 AM on Saturday.
Please be sure to read the other posts about shirts and hats for this year's OIO.

Re: Golf Weekend 2010
Rate Update: Since we're going a week earlier this year, we're actually getting a break in the rate. He wanted to make sure it was clear that we'd be bumped back up again if we chose the "other" weekend next year.
$225 single occupancy
$170 double
$158 triple
$150 quad
Includes: 2 breakfasts, 1 dinner, and golf
Group dinner is scheduled for Saturday @ 7:30 PM. I've asked for a single seating this year so we can all sit down together, which may mean that we'll do an appetizer buffet instead of individual apps to make it easier on them and us (no price difference).

the Golf Course
Hey Conor
We played nine holes at Bayberry hills golf course last year and it was pretty nice. It was on the Inn's list last year, any idea what the price would be to play that course?

I don't know what the price would be if we played at Bayberry instead, but the intel I received was that it's more "stuffy" and might not appreciate our group as much as the fine folks at Bass River. Plus, maybe they'll give my keys back if we return.

We're lucky the Irish Village takes us back, never mind Bayberry! We probably wouldn't even get to complete our round.
Looking forward to another glorious year!

Nice job on the new tech
Not sure if my dad's piece of shit computer can handle it though. I'll have to convince him there's nothing he needs to download.

friends option
conor &/or tom
assuming there is a benefit to identifying members as "friends" (ie e-mail notifications, etc.) can you somehow enable all members to be categorized as friends to one another?

Avoiding Rookie Mistakes
Ok everyone, so it's looking like I'm going to lose my O.I.O. virginity this year and want to make sure I do everything right. I have to work on that Friday so will have to fly out around 6ish. Which airport should I fly into and can I work something out to get picked up from there? The possibility of ole' Jim Dinger attending is still a possibility...Let me know and we will finalize plans in the next week.
Thanks
Brian

Re: Golf Weekend 2010
Brian, that's great! Most people will be driving through (or around) Boston to get to the Cape, so I'd recommend flying into Logan. I'm sure we can coordinate having someone pick you up on their way through. Just let us know your itinerary once you book.

Brian,
Another option may be to fly into Warwick RI (Providence area). It might be easier to make a pick up there on a Fri night if someone has to make the run from the Cape. Rogan or Stevie may know the answer to that.

Boston's actually a half hour closer, according to mapquest.

Mapquest??!!
Real men don't ask for directions. And we're never really ever lost, just not there yet.

Itinerary
Okay so we are flying into Boston around 4:35pm on Friday 26th and leaving Boston at 4:30pm on Sunday...Any takers to pick us up on the way out to the Cape?

Re: Golf Weekend 2010
I'm not sure what time I'll be passing through just yet on Friday and there are many varibles, at that time of day many of us will be going around Boston on I-495. That's the tough one to co-ordinate, but a Sunday drop-off should not be too hard to arrange.
On Friday you might want to take the shuttle to Hyannis, only a few miles from the Irish Village, it would be easy for some one to run over to get you. Here's a link; http://www.p-b.com/index.html
